The Blackbaud Index of Online Giving

Blackbaud Index of Online GivingThe Blackbaud Index of Online Giving is a leading fundraising index that reports online giving trends of more than 1,978 not-for-profit organisations on a monthly basis. Economic conditions, natural disasters, and market fluctuations have made it extremely difficult for not-for-profits to make fundraising decisions informed by the latest donor behavior. That is why Blackbaud has created The Index of Online Giving — to provide not-for-profits with up-to-date data on fundraising trends and to couple that information with valuable analysis by leaders in the sector.

The timely and convenient nature of e-communications makes email marketing appear deceptively easy, however, creating inspiring and engaging content that motivates your Supporters to respond to your call to action, requires deeper consideration and can sometimes be considered more of an art than a science.

Top 10 Social Media Tips for Not-for-Profits

Charities of all sizes and categories continue to focus significant attention on social media as an important channel for engaging with their Supporters and spreading awareness about their cause. A recent research study from the United States – The Non Profit Social Networking Benchmark Report – surveyed 11,916 not-for-profit professionals and found some interesting result such as:

Nine out of 10 nonprofits (89%) report having a presence on Facebook in 2011. In the last three years, Facebook usage has grown from 74% to 89%, with the largest chunk of this adoption occurring between 2009 and 2010 – a 16% jump from 2009 to 2010, and just 3% from 2010 to 2011. By comparison, Twitter looks to have leveled off amongst not-for-profits with usage levels reported at 57% in 2011, down slightly from 2010 (60%).

To help our Charity Partners get the most out of their social media presence, we’ve put together our Top 10 Tips for Not-for-Profits.
